PHILADELPHIA – Riding a two-game win streak, the La Salle women's basketball team (5-6, 1-3 A-10) hits the road for its first conference road trip of the season. The Explorers are scheduled for a noon tipoff at St. Bonaventure (1-6, 0-4 A-10) on Friday and a 2 p.m. tip at Duquesne (2-6, 1-3 A-10) on Sunday. Both games will stream nationally on ESPN+.
SCOUTING THE EXPLORERS:
- La Salle is 5-6 overall after taking back-to-back victories over Saint Joseph's and Drexel.
- The Explorers are scoring 64.5 ppg and allowing their opponents 67.9.
- The Blue & Gold are shooting 37.2% from the field, 29.6% from three-point range, and 71.2% from the line.
- Sophomore Claire Jacobs sits atop the team in scoring with 15.6 on average. This season she has scored 15+ in all but three outings. Jacobs has also registered 10+ in 18 of her last 20 games.
- Juniors Molly Masciantonio and Kayla Spruill are the team's second and third leading scorers with 8.6 and 8.5 points per game, respectively.
- Senior Kate Hill and sophomore Jordon Lewis round out the team's top scorers as the duo is dropping 6.8 ppg.
- Hill is leading the team in assists with 4.5 apg and an assist to turnover ratio at 2.72.
- La Salle ranks first in the Atlantic 10 in three-point field goals attempted (294) and second in three-point field goals made (87).
SCOUTING THE BONNIES:
- St. Bonaventure enters play at 1-6 overall and 0-4 in league play under fifth year head coach Jesse Fleming.
- The Bonnies are averaging 58.7 ppg and allowing 63.3 ppg.
- SBU is recording a 36.9% shooting percentage, 30.5% percentage from deep, and 67.6% from the charity stripe.
- Asianae Johnson (14.1) and Tori Harris (12.6) are the team's top scorers.
SERIES HISTORY – ST. BONAVENTURE:
- La Salle holds the all-time series record over the Bonnies, 17-15.
- The Explorers have claimed seven of the last nine games, including the last five.
SCOUTING THE DUKES:
- Duquesne sits at 2-6, 1-3 A-10 heading into the weekend and will face Saint Joseph's on Friday.
- The Dukes score 64.5 ppg and allow 71.8 ppg.
- Collectively, the team shoots 38.9% from the field, 30.5% from long range, and 68.6% from the line.
- Amanda Kalin (15.5), Laia Sole (10.3), and Megan McConnell (8.5) sit atop the team in scoring.
- Tess Myers (7.5) and Amaya Hamilton (7.0) round out the squad's scorers averaging seven points or more.
