PHILADELPHIA – After notching two goals and two assists to lead La Salle field hockey to a conference win over Davidson, sophomore
Tatum Johnson was named Atlantic 10 Offensive Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday afternoon.
The nod is the first Offensive Player of the Week award for a Explorer since Amanda Chapin was honored on Sept. 16, 2019. The award is also the second weekly award for La Salle this season, as freshman
Sofia Pla was named Freshman of the Week on August 30, 2021.
Johnson's big day against the Wildcats helped improve La Salle's record to 3-2 in A-10 play. The Downington, Pa. native had a hand in all four goals for the Explorers on Friday night, scoring twice while assisting on both of teammate
Paige Doyle's goals in La Salle's 4-2 win. Johnson also racked up four shots on goal in the Explorers second game of the weekend against Appalachian State.
In total, Johnson leads her team with nine goals and seven assists. Her 25 points lead the A-10 conference, as does her points per game average of 1.79. Her six-point performance against Davidson marked the fourth time this season the sophomore has recorded at least three points.
Johnson and the Explorers will be back in action on Friday, Oct. 22 when they head to Amherst, Mass. to square off with UMass.
