PHILADELPHIA – Kelli McGroarty capped off her final two games of the women's soccer regular season in strong fashion en route to earning nomination for the NovaCare Student-Athlete of the Week, announced on Tuesday afternoon.
McGroarty proved one of two players on the team to score twice on the week, tallying in both the matches against Saint Joseph's and UMass alongside teammate
Haley Gschrey. The sophomore scored the opener against the Hawks in a frantic comeback that fell just short in overtime before making an imprint against the Minutewomen, scoring in double-overtime to seal the 2-1 victory on the final day of the regular season.
The native of Voorhees, N.J. ended the season leading the Explorers in goals (3), shots (41) and shots on goal (24). La Salle finished one spot out of an A-10 postseason position as only three points separated five teams.
