PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The La Salle women's basketball team will travel to the Palestra Tuesday, Nov. 30 to face Penn in its first Big Five matchup of the season. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m.

SCOUTING THE EXPLORERS:

  • An early lead taken by the Wildcats in the first quarter was too much for the Explorers to overcome. Despite outscoring Kentucky in the second and third frames, La Salle struggled to find the basket in the final 10 minutes earning on five points, ultimately dropping the contest 74-52.
  • Amy Jacobs led the way for the Explorers with a team-high 10 points in the game, marking her second-straight game in double figures. She is currently averaging 7.7 points per game and is shooting 30.4% from the field. The junior has totaled the most attempts from the long-range for the Explorers with 42.
  • La Salle leading scorer Kayla Spruill struggled to find the net in the game breaking her double-digit scoring streak with just seven points on the night. She continued to lead the rebound effort for the Explorers pulling down a team-high nine boards. Currently, the senior is averaging 14.7 points per game shooting 44.1% from the field, 41.9% from deep and 93.8% from the line.
  • Jaye Haynes recorded nine points in the game against the Wildcats shooting 3-of-8 from the field, 1-of-2 from deep and 2-of-2 from the line. She is currently averaging 12.3 points per game and 4.5 rebounds per game this season.
  • Molly Masciantonio leads the assist effort for the Explorers this season averaging 4.5 per game. Freshman Kenya Cote-Lysius follows close behind with 10 of her 16 assists this season coming from the last two contests alone.
  • Currently, the Explorers are averaging 68.3 points per game and shooting 34.9% from the field, 29.5% from the long range and 77.4% from the line.
SCOUTING THE QUAKERS:
  • Penn currently stands at 4-2 on the season and is entering the contest following a busy 1-2 week with its most recent contest on Saturday, Nov. 27 against Memphis.
  • Junior Kayla Padilla had a record-setting game but Memphis came out victorious in an overtime decision, topping the Quakers 73-68.
  • Padilla dropped a career-high 36 points in the game on 13-for-26 shooting. She now holds the 10th highest points in a single game in program history.
