PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle women's basketball team (10-12, 6-9 A-10) will conclude the regular season this weekend with Duquesne (4-9, 3-6 A-10) on Friday at 6 p.m. and St. Bonaventure (6-12, 5-10 A-10) on Sunday for a 2 p.m. Senior Day tipoff. Both games will stream nationally on ESPN+ and internationally through the Atlantic 10.
SCOUTING THE EXPLORERS:
- La Salle lost two close games last weekend at VCU and Richmond.
- The Blue & Gold are led offensively by sophomore Claire Jacobs with 16.5 ppg. She's registered 15 points or more in 16 of her 21 games this season, with 10+ in 29 of her last 31, including 15 straight. Jacobs has eclipsed 17 points or better in her last five games and leads the league in total points, field goals, free throws and is second in three pointers.
- Junior Kayla Spruill is second in scoring at 14.2 ppg and leads the team with 5.8 rpg. Spruill is shooting 48.9% overall and 42.9% from long range. Since returning to the lineup from injury against St. Bonaventure, Spruill has recorded double-digit scoring performances in 10 of her last 11 games for a 17.3 ppg output. During the span, she's connected on 51.9% of her shots and 43.4% from deep.
- Junior Molly Masciantonio rounds out the top three scorers at 7.8 ppg. Since joining the DI ranks this season, she's been extremely consistent with at least seven points in 17 of her 22 games.
- Senior Kate Hill is second in the league and 14th nationally in assist to turnover ratio at 2.91. Hill also stands second in assists at 96 and fourth in assists per game with 4.4.
- The Explorers lead the A-10 in assists, free throws made, free throw attempts, steals, three-point field goals attempted, three-point field goals made, and turnover margin.
SCOUTING THE DUKES:
- Duquesne is 4-9 overall and 3-6 in league play entering Friday. In total, the Dukes have missed seven of their last 11 scheduled games.
- La Salle topped the Dukes 67-63 back on Jan. 17 in Pittsburgh.
- Five players boast a scoring average above 7.0 – Amanda Kalin (15.5), Laia Sole (8.2), Megan McConnel (8.2), Precious Johnson (7.3), and Libby Bazelak (7.2).
- Duquesne is being outscored 68.3 to 61.9 and outshot 43.2% to 37.7% this season.
SERIES HISTORY – DUQUESNE:
- The Dukes are 21-19 against La Salle, dating back to 1983.
- La Salle's victory earlier this season snapped a six-game losing streak to Duquesne.
SCOUTING THE BONNIES:
- St. Bonaventure is 6-12, 5-10 A-10 and will play Saint Joseph's on Friday before coming to Tom Gola Arena on Sunday.
- SBU took the first game of the season series, 65-60, on Jan. 15.
- Asianae Johnson (13.3) and Tori Harris (10.2) lead the Bonnies in scoring and have started all 16 games.
- The Bonnies are being outscored 63.7 ppg to 58.7 on average.
SERIES HISTORY – ST. BONAVENTURE:
- La Salle holds the all-time series record over the Bonnies, 17-16.
- The Explorers have claimed seven of the last 10 games, including the last five, before the Bonnies took the earlier matchup this season.
