NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – La Salle field hockey junior
Tatum Johnson was named the Atlantic 10 Offensive Player of the Week following an impressive two-game performance.
Johnson's three goals helped to push La Salle into a three-game win streak defeating both Richmond, 1-0, and Longwood, 5-3, over the weekend.
The forward scored the lone-goal in the contest against the Spiders. The game marked the first time in program history that La Salle has won against Richmond on the road. The victory was the first conference win for the Explorers this season.
She then went on to score the first two goals in the game against Longwood just 90 seconds apart. The contest marked the highest-scoring game for the Explorers this season and the first time under head coach
Martu Loncarica's tenure that La Salle has scored five consecutive goals in a game.
Johnson and the rest of the Explorers return home to DeVincent Field this Friday, Oct. 14 to face A-10 opponent Davidson at 3 p.m. The game will stream live on ESPN+.
