SCOUTING THE EXPLORERS:
- La Salle (13-11, 6-6 A10) returns back to Tom Gola Arena following a big 80-68 victory over the Davidson Wildcats on Wednesday. The victory snapped the Explorers' three game skid.
- The Explorers took an early lead over the Wildcats that they would not relinquish. La Salle shot its highest percentage of the season from the field, 53.8%, marking the first time the squad has shot at least 50% from the field since 2017. The victory marked the first time La Salle has defeated Davidson on its home court in the all-time series.
- Kayla Spruill recorded her 18th game in double figures this season including her fifth-straight. Spruill went 10-of-13 from the field including 1-of-1 from deep and 3-of-4 from the line. Her 24 points tied her season-high and marked her sixth 20-point game this season. She currently leads the conference and ranks just second in the nation for her performance from beyond the arc shooting 47%.
- Claire Jacobs put together her ninth game in double figures with 18 points. Her four 3-point buckets in the contest marks the eighth time this season she has sunk at least three buckets from deep in a contest.
- Jaye Haynes notched her eighth 10+ point game this season with 15 points on 5-of-7 shooting including an impressive 3-of-4 performance from the long range.
- Molly Masciantonio continues to be the leading helping hand for the Explorers averaging 4.6 assists per game. She currently ranks second in the league and 18th in the nation in assist to turnover ratio (2.41).
- The Explorers continue to lead the conference in free throw percentage shooting 76.4% from the line this season. La Salle has won the turnover battle in 17 of its contests, including the last five straight, this season and currently sits second in the league in turnover margin (2.71).
SCOUTING BILLIKENS:
- Saint Louis (8-15, 407 A10) comes to Philadelphia following a 51-46 victory over Saint Joseph's on Wednesday night. Only six players dressed for the contest due to injury with three recording a full 40 minutes in the contest.
- Peyton Kennedy recorded a career-high 19 points in the contest and Natalie McNeal totaled 14.
- Ciaja Harbison led the Billikens in the last game against the Explorers with 21 points. She currently ranks second in the A-10 with 18.1 points per game. Her average of 20.9 points in league games paces the conference. Harbison has not suited up in the last three games.
- Brooke Flowers has picked up double-doubles in four of the last six games this season. Averaging 10.6 points and 11.4 rebounds per game, she is just one of just two players in the conference averaging double-double on the season. She currently ranks seventh in the NCAA with 244 career blocked shots and has totaled five five-block contests.
SERIES HISTORY:
- The Explorers trail the Billikens 7-10 in the all-time series. Four of La Salle's seven wins have come on its home court with the last having taken place back in the 2017-18 season.
- La Salle has lost by a margin of 16 points or less in the last three contests against Saint Louis.
- In the teams' last matchup, the Explorers had four players reach double figures in the contest. La Salle brought it back to a three-point game early in the fourth, but the comeback bid fell just short.
- Current Explorers Claire Jacobs (17), Kayla Spruill (15) and Molly Masciantonio (12) led the scoring effort in the game.
