PHILADELPHIA — The La Salle women's soccer team has unveiled its schedule for the upcoming 2023 season. The 18-game schedule is set to start on Aug. 17 and features nine home matches.
The Explorers begin their season alternating home and away games through the first four contests.
The Explorers open the year on Thursday, Aug. 17 when they host Towson at McCarthy Stadium. Kickoff for the home opener is set for 6 p.m. The Explorers will then head to upstate New York on Sunday, Aug. 20 to face UAlbany for a 3 p.m. clash.
After that, the Explorers return to McCarthy Stadium to play against Delaware on Thursday, Aug. 24 before going back on the road to face Princeton on Sunday, Aug. 27. Both games will kick off at 6 p.m.
The Explorers will then host two straight home games, beginning with a match against Seton Hall on Thursday, Aug. 31 at 7 p.m. Three days later on Sunday, Sept. 3, La Salle will host Bucknell at 1 p.m.
Then, the Explorers go on a four-game road trip, with the first two matches being non-conference games against NJIT and city rival Temple. The match against NJIT is set for Thursday, Sept. 7 at 7 p.m., while the game at Temple will take place on Sunday, Sept. 10 at 1 p.m.
Then, the Explorers conclude their road trip by opening Atlantic 10 Conference play against Saint Louis and George Washington, respectively. The Explorers will take on the Billikens on Sunday, Sept. 17 at 2 p.m., then head down to the Nation's Capital to face GWU on Thursday, Sept. 21 at 3 p.m.
La Salle returns to McCarthy Stadium on Sunday, Sept. 24 to host Richmond in its A-10 home opener at 1 p.m. Then, the Explorers end the month of September with another A-10 home match against VCU on Thursday, Sept. 28 at 7 p.m.
The Explorers begin the final month of their season on Sunday, Oct. 1 when they head across town to face rival Saint Joseph's for a 1 p.m. match. After facing the Hawks, the Explorers come back to 20th and Olney to host two straight games against George Mason (Saturday, Oct. 7 at 1 p.m.) and Fordham (Thursday, Oct. 12 at 7 p.m.), respectively.
After a road match at Duquesne on Sunday, Oct. 15 at 1 p.m., the Explorers will play their final home game of the regular season on Thursday, Oct. 19 against Loyola Chicago. Kickoff for that game is set for 7 p.m.
The Explorers will conclude the regular season on Sunday, Oct. 22 when they travel to face Davidson in a 1:30 p.m. match.
After the regular season, the Atlantic 10 Championship will take place at campus locations, beginning Oct. 27.
