SCOUTING THE EXPLORERS:
  • The Explorers are stuck in another series of losses, after their fifth-straight loss came at the hands of the Saint Joseph's Hawks this past Sunday.
  • La Salle had played an extremely tough first half defensively, holding the Hawks to 19 points, only trailing by two at halftime, but that story did not remain the same after the break.
  • St. Joe's got their offense going in the second half, and their defense held even stronger, only limiting La Salle to 12 second half points, ten of which coming from Makayla Miller.
  • On the boards, SJU outrebounded La Salle 43-27, but Jolene Armendariz led the Explorers with six herself.
  • La Salle and Richmond will meet for the first and only time during the regular season on Wednesday night. The Spiders are on a two-game winning streak against the Explorers and won last year's meeting in Richmond.
  • The Explorers are ranked in certain categories within the conference worth noting: 3rd in 3-PT field goals made (182), 3rd in opponent 3-PT FG percentage (.286), and 3rd in steals (222).
  • La Salle has now lost five-straight games after Sunday's loss to Saint Joseph's. The Explorers sit at 4-10 in conference play, along with Dayton. The Spiders are tied for first in the A-10 with St. Joe's at 13-1.
  • As a team, the Explorers take as many three-point shots as any team in the Atlantic 10 Conference with 27.0 per game. Nationally, La Salle is ranked 10th in the nation in that category. Marshall ranks first taking 30.8 three-point attempts per game this season.

SCOUTING THE SPIDERS:
  • Richmond, similarly to St. Joe's, sits atop the A-10 Conference at 13-1. They are 23-4 on the year and are riding a six-game winning streak.
  • The last loss for the Spiders came against a tough Duquesne Dukes team 72-59.
  • In last year's match up, Maggie Doogan for the Spiders took over in the win. Doogan had 20 points and seven rebounds in 35 minutes of play.
  • Doogan ranks fifth in scoring in the conference this season, averaging 15.3 points per game.
  • Siobhan Ryan is the leader in the A-10 in three-point field goal percentage, shooting almost 50% from beyond the arch.
