PHILADELPHIA – La Salle men's basketball head coach Fran Dunphy '70, who has won over 600 games as a Division I head men's basketball coach, will return as head coach of the Explorers, he announced Wednesday. 
 
Dunphy is the winningest head coach in the illustrious history of Philadelphia Big 5 basketball, with 611 wins at three Big 5 schools, he ranks 42^nd in career wins in NCAA Division I history.

A member of numerous Hall of Fames including the Big 5 and La Salle athletics, the Philadelphia native remains the only head coach to lead multiple Big 5 programs.
