PHILADELPHIA – La Salle women's basketball head coach
Mountain MacGillivray has finalized the roster for the upcoming 2024-25 season. The roster includes 13 new members to the team comprised of five freshmen, and eight transfers.
"There will be a lot of new faces on campus this fall and we are looking forward to seeing who we become," said MacGillivray. "This group features a lot of length and versatility and has already shown this summer the maturity, competitiveness, and leadership that will carry us forward."
Returning to La Salle from last year's squad are sophomore
Aryss Macktoon and graduate student
Jolene Armendariz. Macktoon was limited in action last year due to an upper body injury, however she averaged 10.8 points per game in her four games played. Armendariz made 29 appearances last year, starting in 27 of those games. She averaged 6.2 points per game and led the team in rebounds averaging 5.9 per game.
Ty'Renisha 'Reedy' Bowers comes to La Salle as a native of Natchez, La. And previously played at Southern Arkansas University Tech. Bowers has offensive creativity and was a big part of the reason SAUT were the 2023-24 NJCAA Region II District Champs as she averaged 9.0 points per game last season.
Ashleigh Connor is a familiar face to the Explorer community as she comes to 20
th & Olney from A-10 member Saint Louis University. The junior appeared in 18 games last season for the Billikens where she scored a career-high 11 points, going 5-7 from the field against Chaminade. Connor was also a member of the 2022-23 A-10 Championship team at SLU.
Graduate student transfer
Mackenzie Daleba comes to La Salle from Fairfield University. Fairfield had a historic 2023-24 season, entering the top-25 for the first time in program history, a 25-game winning streak aiding this ranking. Daleba finished her Fairfield career as a two-time MAAC champion and appeared in a career-high 25 games last season for the Stags. In the first round of the NCAA tournament last year against Indiana, the Dorchester, Mass. native scored seven points.
Ivy Fox is a junior transfer coming to La Salle from Coffeyville Community College and hails from Garrison, N.D. Last season for Coffeyville, Fox appeared in 32 games and started in 29 of them. She ended the season averaging 10.8 points and reached 20 double-digit scoring performances.
Vega Gil joins the Explorers from Raritan Valley Community College as a junior transfer. The Pamplona, Spain native started and appeared in all 29 games last season for Raritan Valley where she averaged 13.4 points per game and shot 43.5% from the field. Ayisse 'Shay' Magassa is yet another junior transfer and comes from Clarendon College. In 32 games last season Magassa averaged 14.3 points per game, and looks to use her size and be disruptive on defense. Anna Pryszlak is a native of Gdansk, Poland and she played her previous two-seasons at Cowley County Community College. The junior led the team last season in scoring as she averaged 14.8 points per game, and 9.5 rebounds per game.
Alisa Blalock is welcomed to La Salle as a junior walk-on. Blalock played her previous two seasons at Caldwell University where she played 33 games in those two seasons. Blalock is from Uniondale, N.Y. and went to St. Mary's High School where she was an New York State Champion.
La Salle will welcome five freshmen to the 24-25 roster.
Irene Garcia comes to Philadelphia from Madrid, Spain. Garcia played for Real Canoe while in Spain and appeared in the U18 National Championship game with them.
Sania Jenkins joins the Explorers from Narrabeen, Australia. She played high school basketball at Etiwanda High School in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. While there, Jenkins won the 2022-23 and 2023-24 Open Division State Championship.
Lauren Patnode hails from Saratoga Springs, N.Y. and played high school basketball at The Perkiomen School. Her senior year she finished as the team's MVP, while also being named 1
st Team All-State. She ended her high-school career as a 1,000-point scorer. Joan 'Joanie' Quinn makes the quick trip from Newtown Square, Pa. to come to La Salle. Quinn was a four-year varsity player at Cardinal O'Hara High School where she won three state championships. In her junior and senior seasons, she was named First-Team All-Catholic League.
Rounding out the freshmen is
Diora Ressaissi. She comes to La Salle from Orlando, Fla. and played her high-school basketball at Long Island Lutheran. She played on the USA Today #1 ranked team in the country while at LIL.
