Women's Basketball Welcomes Davidson To John E. Glaser Arena Sunday

Philadelphia, PA - The La Salle women's basketball team continues Atlantic 10 play on Sunday as the Explorers welcome Davidson to John E. Glaser Arena, aiming to snap a three-game skid.

Scouting the Wildcats

Davidson enters the matchup with a 5-1 mark in Atlantic 10 play, with its only conference loss coming in a triple-overtime thriller against Richmond. The Wildcats have been especially impressive on the defensive end, allowing just 49.2 points per game across their five conference victories.

Senior guard Charlise Dunn has been the engine for Davidson, leading the team in scoring, rebounds, steals, and blocks. Dunn poured in 33 points in the Wildcats' overtime loss at Baylor in November and scored 13 points in their most recent outing against Fordham. In that contest, Edina Strausz, Davidson's field goal percentage leader, added a season-high 17 points on just nine shot attempts.

Since Davidson joined the Atlantic 10 ahead of the 2014-15 season, the Wildcats and Explorers have met 12 times, with Davidson holding a slim 7-5 advantage. Despite a loss in the most recent meeting, Ashleigh Connor and Joan Quinn each finished in double figures for La Salle.

Third Quarter's the Charm

Despite dropping each of their last two contests, the Explorers have owned the third quarter, outscoring Saint Joseph's and Saint Louis by double digits with runs of 24-8 and 19-9. The third quarter remains La Salle's only period with a positive point differential this season.

Getting Some Revenge

In La Salle's loss to Saint Louis, former Billiken Ashleigh Connor delivered a career-high 25 points to go along with eight rebounds. After opening the season with three straight 20-point performances, the outing marked her first 20-plus scoring effort since that stretch.

Stealing the Show

Aryss Macktoon is on pace to break La Salle's single-season steals record of 90, set by Ashley Gale during the 2010–11 season. Macktoon's 63 steals rank top-five nationally and lead the Atlantic 10, and she has recorded at least one steal in every game this season, with multiple steals in all but one. Joan Quinn and Ashleigh Connor also rank among the league's top 15 in steals, helping La Salle sit atop the conference in team steals.

The Q Factor

Joan Quinn sparked a 24-8 third-quarter run in the loss at Saint Joseph's by knocking down three three-pointers, briefly giving the Explorers the lead. La Salle is 6-2 when Quinn scores in double figures, as the preseason All-Conference selection averages 10.1 points, 2.8 assists, and 2.1 steals per game.

Scoring in Bunches

Ashleigh Connor and Aryss Macktoon form the only duo in the Atlantic 10 with both players ranking top-10 in scoring. When the pair each scores 15 or more points, the Explorers are 4-1, earning wins over Loyola (MD), Lehigh, West Chester, and George Washington. Connor and Macktoon also both rank top-15 in the conference in steals, making them a two-way threat on both ends of the floor.
