This Week In La Salle Athletics: Eight Programs In Action With 5 Home Events

Here is a look of the action to come this week for La Salle Athletics, brought to you by Hershey's Ice Cream.   
 
Men's Basketball 
  • After having the weekend off, La Salle will return to action on Wednesday when it travels to take on Duquesne, set for a 7:00 pm tipoff in Pittsburgh. The game will air on ESPN+. 
  • The Explorers return home to John E. Glaser Arena Saturday afternoon to take on Rhode Island at 2:30 pm. La Salle will be going for the season sweep of the Rams, who it beat 79-72 on January 7 in Rhode Island.  
  • Saturday's game will honor La Salle's Hall of AthletesPat Christensen '13 (baseball) and Amy Griffin '18 (women's basketball) make up the Class of 2026.

Women's Basketball 
  • Coming off back-to-back victories, the Explorers return home on Wednesday to host Rhode Island, the top team in the Atlantic 10, before heading on the road to take on second-place Richmond on Sunday. 
  • Redshirt sophomore Aryss Macktoon is one steal shy of the single-season program record in steals (90) with four games remaining in the regular season.

Baseball 
  • After a weekend-long celebration of baseball's return to La Salle University, the Explorers hit the road for the first time this season with four games in the state of Delaware this week. 
  • La Salle will face the University of Delaware in a midweek tilt on Tuesday at 4:00 in Newark. The Explorers will then head downstate to Dover and take on Delaware State in a weekend series on Friday-Sunday.  
  • La Salle tied the second-best mark in program history with its 27-run performance on Opening Day Friday at Hank DeVincent Field and never took its foot off the gas pedal in a three-game sweep of UMES. The Explorers' offense was the big storyline, scoring 48 combined runs while Alec Welshans homered in all three games, Carter Groen drove in 11 RBI with a home run, Chase Swain went yard and scored eight runs, and six total Explorers posted OPS marks north of 1.000.

Swim & Dive 
  • Explorers swim and dive will compete in the Atlantic 10 Championships this week from Wednesday through Sunday. 
  • In the teams' last meet, both teams won their dual meet against Monmouth. Seniors Felix Jedbratt and Tori Fenn each won two individual events.

Acrobatics & Tumbling  
  • La Salle will compete in its inaugural home meet on Friday night, hosting Stevenson at 6:00 pm inside John E. Glaser Arena.  
  • Head Coach Brianna D'Angelo and the Explorers will be looking to improve to 2-0 after a thrilling victory, 236.750-220.990, in the program's first-ever meet last Tuesday at Morgan State. The Explorers posted a meet-best score of 9.75 in the Open Pyramid and took decisive victories in the Acro and Team events to pull away in Baltimore.

Women's Lacrosse 
  • La Salle continues its season-long three-game homestand with a pair of games this week, hosting UMBC on Wednesday at 4:00 pm and Central Connecticut on Saturday at 2:00 pm.  
  • The Explorers (2-1) will look to keep up their winning ways after a decisive 16-6 victory over Howard Saturday. Emi Waldron scored five goals in the win, while Kate Licciardi and Mia Riccitelli added hat tricks for the Explorers, who surpassed last season's win total in only their third game of the season.

Track & Field 
  • La Salle track and field returns to competition in Philly Friday at the Philly Metro Invite, hosted by Penn, at 3:00 pm. 
  • In last week's meet in Boston, senior Chanel Muir set a new program record in the mile, going sub-4 with a time of 3:59.78.

Women's Golf 
  • On Saturday, the La Salle women's golf team will return to action for the first time since October 26, 2025. The team heads to Pawleys Island, SC to take part in the Battle at the Beach, hosted by Stonehill.
