Washington, DC - On Monday, the Atlantic 10 announced Abby Boggs as the conference's Defensive Player of the Week for the second consecutive week.
After tallying 16 saves at Penn on Friday and shutting out Queens in an overtime shootout on Sunday, the senior from Salem, NJ, has earned the award for the second time this season and third time in her career. Boggs' 19 saves this week brought her season total to 61, which currently ranks among the top five in the nation and leads the Atlantic 10.
Boggs and the Explorers will have two more opportunities this upcoming weekend as they host VCU in their first conference matchup on Friday, followed by New Haven on Sunday. The Explorers defeated New Haven, 9-1, last season in their first year of DI competition.
