PHILADELPHIA - The La Salle softball team remains home this weekend for their Atlantic 10 opener when they host Fordham in a doubleheader on Friday at 3 p.m.

Scouting La Salle (3-15)...

The Explorers are coming off of two tough losses to Villanova in their home opener on Tuesday. The Wildcats won 8-0 in the first game before the Explorers made a run in an 8-5 loss in the nightcap. Senior Breanna DiTommaso led the squad with a 5-for-6 day at the plate.

DiTommaso vaulted to the team lead in batting average, now with a .333. Rookies Alyssa Bitsimis and Alicia Aughton are second and third on the team in batting, with a .273 and .271 respectively.

Aughton continues to lead the La Salle pitching staff, putting together a 2.62 ERA, recording nine complete games and striking out 32 in 72.0 innings pitched.

Scouting Fordham (12-14)...

The Rams enter Friday's A-10 opener on a five-game win streak, topping St. John's 8-0 in six innings on Tuesday behind Jen Mineau's eighth career no-hitter.

Michelle Daubman is the lone Ram hitting over .300, with a .311 batting average. Lindsey Kay Bright is second with a .296 and Paige Ortiz rounds out the top three with a .287. Ortiz also has a team-best 15 RBI.

Mineau, a Third Team All-American, leads the A-10 preseason favorite Rams in the pitching circle, recording a 2.05 ERA and 10-8 record. She has struck out 159 batters in 119 innings pitched so far this season.

Next Up...

The Explorers head back on the road until April 3rd. They travel across town next Wednesday (3/28) to Penn for a 4 p.m. doubleheader. After that are single games at Temple on Friday and Saturday, followed by a Sunday doubleheader at Saint Joseph's.
