PHILADELPHIA - The La Salle softball squad heads back on the road for six games, beginning with a Wednesday doubleheader at Penn on Wednesday starting at 4 p.m.
Scouting La Salle (3-17)...
The Explorers are coming off of two tough losses to Atlantic 10 preseason favorite Fordham.
Kristin Travers scored the weekend's lone run on a solo home run in the first game of the doubleheader against the Rams on Friday.
Breanna DiTommaso leads the Explorers with a .320 batting average and a team-best seven runs scored. She has 16 hits, including one double.
Alicia Aughton is second on the team with a .269 clip at the plate along with two home runs to tie for the team lead in round-trippers.
Alyssa Bitsimis rounds out the top three with a .250 average.
Aughton leads the Explorer pitching staff with a 3.82 ERA with nine complete games. She has struck out 33 in 77.0 innings pitched.
Scouting Penn (13-10)...
La Salle marks the final doubleheader for the Quakers before Ivy League play begins this weekend. The Quakers went 3-1 in the Penn Spring Invitational this past weekend, topping Villanova, Rider and Army before dropping the finale against Villanova in the teams' second meeting of the weekend.
Two players are hitting above .300, led by Sydney Turchin's .333. Kayla Dahlerbruch is hitting .303 with a team-best three home runs this season.
Alexis Borden and Mikenzie Voves have split pitching duties this season with Borden leading with a 1.28 ERA and 8-2 record. Voves is recording a 1.88 ERA and 3-4 record.
Next Up...
The Explorers play single games at Temple on Friday at 3 p.m. and Saturday at noon, before taking on Saint Joseph's in a doubleheader on Sunday beginning at noon. They return home on Tuesday, April 3, for a two-game set against Monmouth at 3 p.m.
