NORRISTOWN, Pa. - Junior Kiara Smith picked up a win at No. 1 singles, but the women's tennis team fell to Chestnut Hill, 8-1, on Monday afternoon on the Griffins' campus.

Smith fell behind 2-6 in the first set, but rallied for a 6-2 victory in the second set.  She continued her momentum in the tiebreaker, winning it 10-8.

Jenna Manzione also played a tough couple of sets for La Salle, falling 6-4, 6-4 at No. 5 singles.

The Explorers, who were playing short-handed on the day, dropped all three doubles matches at the beginning of the competition.

La Salle is back in action on Wednesday when it faces Holy Family on the La Salle Tennis Courts at 3:00 p.m.
