The second through sixth innings were quick ones on both sides of the field before the Explorers (3-23, 0-4 Atlantic 10) knotted the game at 1-1 in the seventh. Aughton led off with her double to right center and advanced to third one out later on
Kati Cooper's single to right. With two outs, Musho blasted a single to right to score Aughton. The Hawks ended the Explorer rally by snagging
Liz Reed's fly ball to right field.
The Hawks got three quick outs in the top of the eighth and the Explorers responded with two quick outs in the bottom of the frame.
