Women's Tennis Picks Up 5-2 Win Over Monmouth

PHILADELPHIA - The women's tennis team picked up a 5-2 victory over Monmouth on Wednesday afternoon in the Explorers' final home match of the season.

At No. 1 singles, junior Kiara Smith finished off her opponent, 6-1, 6-2. Freshman Celesta Smith picked up a 6-2, 7-5 victory in the No. 2 singles slot. Sophomore Chloe Trave won 6-0, 6-3 at No. 4 singles.

Rounding out the Explorers' singles wins was junior Sarah Chambers, who won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 6 singles.

In doubles, Celesta Smith and Vamvakitis worked to an 8-5 win at the No. 1 position. Kiara Smith and Trave won 8-1 at No. 2. Manzione and Chambers battled at No. 3 doubles, coming out on top in the tiebreaker, 8-8 (7-3).

La Salle will conclude its regular season with a match tomorrow on the road against Elizabethtown.
