PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle women's tennis team finished out the fall season with a 6-1 loss to Monmouth.
The Explorers earned a singles play victory from senior
Chloe Trave. The senior defeated her opponent in two straight sets. Trave defeated Kendal Kauffman 6-4, 6-3, to earn the only point for La Salle.
"It was a tough fall season, but we learned a lot to move forward in the spring" said head coach
Tony Green.
La Salle also earned a victory from
Caitlin Coelho and
Celesta Smith in doubles play. The 8-1 victory from the pair of Explorers were the only La Salle pair to earn a victory in doubles.
Trave and
Margot Tovia had a hard fought match it doubles play, but could not earn a victory. The pair of Explorers dropped a close set 9-8.
The Explorers close out the season with a 2-3 record. The team will prepare for the spring season.
"We need to learn from everything we did in the fall and bring it to practice and matches in the spring" added Green.
