Men's Tennis Drops Tough Match Against Saint Joseph's

PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle men's tennis team dropped a tough match to city and conference rival Saint Joseph's, 7-0.

The Hawks (9-9) earned all the points against the Explorers (8-8) in an Atlantic 10 Conference matchup.  The Explorers were coming off of a sweep of Rutgers-Camden over the weekend, in which they had won all nine matches.

Senior Trevor Donovan won a set against his opponent in a highly contested match. The match between the senior and Tommy Gates came down to a tiebreaker, which was dropped by Donovan, 10-7.

“Trevor (Donovan) had a hard fought match against Gates, who just got the better of him in the close tiebreaker. Having the tiebreaker score be 10-7, showed how hard Donovan had fought in the entire match” said head coach Ed Colfer.

Sophomore Robert Kasinow fought hard in both sets, before dropping the match 6-4, 6-1.

La Salle dropped all three doubles matches.

The Explorers hit the court next when they host the University of the Sciences on Wednesday at the Arthur Asche Tennis Center.
