PHILADELPHIA – The men's tennis team dropped a match against city rival Villanova Wildcats on Sunday, 6-1.
The Explorers struggled against the Wildcats, with gaining one point from sophomore
De'Sean Fennell.
The sophomore defeated his opponent in three sets, including a tight first set. Fennell won the first set 7-6, before dropping the second match 3-6. After a tough second match, the sophomore rebounded to win 10-0 in the tiebreaker.
The Explorers stayed tight in some other matches, but did not have enough to pull out the win.
La Salle dropped to 9-9 on the season, with three matches remaining before the Atlantic 10 Conference Championships.
The Explorers will compete in their last home match of the season as they take on Rider on Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. at the Belfield Courts.
