KINGSTON, R.I. – The La Salle softball team lost today's game against the Rhode Island Rams, 7-3. The Rams rebounded from yesterday's 7-2 loss to split the series between the Explorers.
 
The Rams struck hard and fast, scoring four runs on four hits and two errors in the bottom of the first. They added another in the second to give themselves a 5-0 advantage but the Explorers answered with two runs in the third including an RBI single from junior Megan Hodgson.
 
That was the closest the Explorers would come for the remainder of the game as the Rams scored two more in the bottom of the third to make it 7-2. Senior Tristan Musho doubled to left field in the sixth to drive in Hodgson but it wouldn't be enough to overtake the lead.
 
La Salle now stands at 13-14 on the season as they prepare for a doubleheader against the University of Massachusetts scheduled to start at noon tomorrow.
