AMHERST, Mass. – The La Salle softball team did not bring its best to today's doubleheader against conference-rivals Massachusetts as the Explorers scored zero runs and managed just three hits on the day between the two games. The Minutewomen overpowered the Explorers offensively, scoring a total of 13 runs on 16 hits to win game one 8-0 and game two 5-0.
Freshmen
Kendra Heyer and
Alyssa Sims recorded the only hits in game one, both of which were infield singles to the shortstop. Junior
Megan Hodgson provided the lone hit of game two with a single to left field.
The Explorers now stand at 13-16 (2-8 conference). After a day of rest, La Salle travels to the Jersey Shore on Tuesday to take on Monmouth University in a doubleheader set to begin at 3 PM.
