PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle women's tennis team dropped a midweek, non-conference matchup against Monmouth (3-11), 5-1.
The Explorers (2-10) received a victory from junior Caitlin Coelho. The junior won in straight sets at the number one positions with scores of 6-2 and 6-4.
“Caitlin turned the page after dropping a tough match on Saturday (against Fairfield) where she dropped two very close sets” said head coach
Tony Green.
“It was important to see her show the same mentality that she had on Saturday, but was great to see be on the better half of the result,” added Green.
Senior
Jenna Manzione won three games in a very close match against her opponent at the number four position, but it was not enough to get the match victory. Manzione dropped the match, 6-2 and 6-1.
The Explorers will return to the court on Friday when they travel to take on the Hawks of Saint Joseph's in a city and Atlantic 10 tilt.
