Men's Tennis Improves Record to 3-0 with Sweep of Philadelphia University

PHILADELPHIA – The men's tennis team improved to 3-0 with a sweep over Philadelphia University, 4-0.
 
Senior Joseph LaBate, who earned a sweep in the singles number two position, led the Explorers to a victory over the Rams. LaBate defeated Ayman Barakat, 6-3 before a second set win of 6-0.
 
LaBate paired up with freshman Brian Balico to earn a decisive 8-3 victory in doubles play.
 
Balico earned a singles victory in the number five position. The freshman defeated his opponent in a two set sweep.
 
Balico improved his singles record to 4-2 for the fall season.
 
The Explorers also earned a singles victory from junior Dale Fetterman. The junior won in two straight sets with a score of 6-3, 6-1.
 
In doubles play, the Explorers swept all three matches earning the important doubles point.
 
La Salle is on a three match winning streak against Philadelphia University, dating back to October 6, 2011.
 
The Explorers will take the court on Sunday, when they travel to Millersville University.
