Philadelphia - The La Salle men's tennis team couldn't rebound after stealing the doubles point, before dropping a tough match to Villanova, 6-1.
 
The Explorers earned a point with a pair victories in doubles play. The number three position locked up the doubles point for La Salle. Junior Thomas MacLeod and freshman Mark Robinson paired up to defeat their Wildcats counterpart, 8-5.
 
In the number two position, juniors De'Sean Fennell and Dale Fetterman defeated their opponents 8-6.
 
"It was a second away match of the spring season, but it was good to get away from our home court. We looked at this match as a fresh start after dropping several tough matches at home, but it didn't fall the way we wanted it too" said head coach Tony Green.
 
La Salle could not get anything going in singles play, but went down fighting against the cross-town rival. Junior Robert Kasinow dropped each set with a score of 6-3, but put a lot of pressure on his opponent.
 
"Even though we didn't get the results that we wanted against Villanova, it was good to see the guys put the pressure on their opponents in each match" added Green.
 
The Explorers take the court next when they host cross-town and conference rival Saint Joseph's on Tuesday, March 25th at the Belfield Courts.
