Philadelphia – The La Salle men's tennis team closed out the regular season with a loss on the road at George Mason, 7-0.
The Explorers struggled to get any momentum against their new conference opponent. In doubles play, La Salle looked to a pair made up of a rookie and a veteran, but they could not find an answer against the Patriots.
Joseph LaBate and freshman
Brian Balico challenged the Patriot duo before dropping the match in number two position, 8-1.
LaBate played in the number three singles position, but was unable to get over the hill. The senior dropped the first game of the match 7-5, and continued to fight against George Mason's Tanner Baine. Baine closed out the match with a second set match, 6-4.
La Salle closed out the regular season with a 7-11 overall record.
"We are going to work hard in practice this week before we head to Virginia for the tournament" said head coach
Tony Green.
The Explorers will travel to Charlottesville, Va. for the Atlantic 10 Tournament April 17th – April 20th.
