Philadelphia – The La Salle men's tennis team broke a seven match losing streak with a sweep of Rider, 7-0.
The Explorers defeated Rider in all six singles, including all three doubles matches. Junior
Robert Kasinow, who won all three matches he competed in, led La Salle.
In singles, the junior defeated his opponent in two straight sets. Kasinow was able to secure the point with a 6-3 second set win, after earning an easy first set victory 6-1.
Kasinow paired up with senior
Chas Berenato to steal a doubles victory in the number two position. The pair helped secure up the doubles point with a 8-4 victory over the Broncos pair.
La Salle received an important win from freshman
Mark Robinson in the number six position. The freshman swept his opponent in straight sets of 6-0 score.
Robinson also paired up with junior
Thomas MacLeod in the number three doubles position. The Explorer pair defeated the Broncos with a score of 8-4.
"It was an overall good team win. We are happy to have this momentum in our favor heading into a matchup with Saint Joseph's tomorrow" said MacLeod.
MacLeod also earned a singles victory in the number five position. The junior defeated his opponent in straight sets.
The Explorers will take the court tomorrow when they travel to Atlantic 10 and City-Rival, Saint Joseph's at 3:00 p.m.
