PHILADELPHIA- The La Salle women's tennis team fell 7-0 to Drexel at the Armory on Friday afternoon to open their spring schedule.
 
The Dragons got things going early, taking all three doubles matches 6-0. Nicole Pivonka and Clary Rodriguez Cruz beat Caitlin Coelho and Ally Santarelli, Erin Bowsher and Ryshena Providence were victorious over Jade Smith and Celesta Smith and Lea Winkler and Kendra Bunch defeated Jayla Smith and Cecile Johnson.
 
Coelho fell in straight sets to Pivonka on the no. 1 singles court while Santarelli fell 6-1, 6-1 in the two spot.
 
Jade Smith lost a 6-1, 6-3 decision on the third court while Celesta Smith fell in straight sets in the no. 4 spot.
 
Jayla Smith fell in straight sets to Winkler on the no. 5 court while Johnson dropped a 6-1, 6-0 decision to Bunch in the 6^th court.    
 
The Explorers are back in action on Saturday February 14 as they visit Saint Peter's at 1 p.m.
