PHILADELPHIA – La Salle's
Amy Griffin has been named the Philadelphia Big 5 Player of the Week, it was announced today. Griffin averaged 24.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists in two contests last week.
The Atlanta, Ga. native poured in a career-high 26 points against North Texas on Wednesday and added a game-high 23 on Sunday against Villanova. Griffin added six rebounds against the Mean Green and seven against the Wildcats.
Griffin finished the week 17-for-37 (45.1%) from the field and 13-of-15 from the foul line.
La Salle returns to the court next week in the Hawks Holiday Classic hosted by Monmouth. The Explorers play Norfolk State next Tuesday (Dec. 29) and either Monmouth or St. Francis Brooklyn on Wednesday (Dec. 30).
