LUTHERVILLE, Md. – La Salle's
Celesta Smith defeated Megan Hahn on the No. 1 singles court as the Explorers fell 6-1 the Loyola Greyhounds at Loyola (Md.) on Thursday afternoon.
Smith also teamed up with
Alexandra Santerelli to defeat Julie Clark and Nicole Eberle on the No. 2 doubles court although the Greyhounds took the doubles point with wins on courts No. 1 and 3.
La Salle's two through five players all fell in straight sets. Amanda Lanciano defeated Santerelli, 6-3, 6-1 at No. 2, and Emily Hughed topped
Jade Smith, 6-2, 6-4, at No. 3.
Jayla Smith fell to Haleigh Morgus, 6-0, 6-1, at No. 4, and Olivia Ott defeated
Kathryn Thomas, 6-0, 6-1 at No. 5 singles. Loyola earned the point in the No. 6 slot by default.
The Explorers are back in action at Hofstra on April 1.
