Box Score 2 DELAND, Fla.- The La Salle softball team dropped a pair of games on the second day of the Stetson Classic. The Explorers fell 4-0 in the first game of the day to Tennessee Chattanooga before falling 13-4 in the second game of the day.
Game one saw freshman
McKenzie Peace throw a complete game for the Explorers allowing only two earned runs while recording one strike out on the day.
The Mocs jumped out to an early lead in the first inning thanks to a single by Criket Blanco. Chattanooga doubled their lead in the third before adding two security runs in the fifth to round out their scoring for the game. Freshman

Kristin Travers each recorded hits for the Explorers in the first game.
Game two was back in forth in the early going with La Salle taking multiple leads on the host Hatters. After senior
Alicia Aughton fanned all three batters she faced in the first the Explorers jumped out to an early lead in the bottom half of the inning.
Suzanne Swanicke hit a sacrifice fly to left field that brought in
Christina Bascara to give the Explorers a 1-0 lead.
Stetson answered right back scoring a run of their own in both the second and third inning to take a 2-1 lead on the Explorers. However, La Salle would answer back with some fire power of their own. The Explorers notched things up when Bascara hit a sacrifice fly to bring in
Tori Gollie. Swanicke followed suit with another sacrifice fly that would bring Hagarty. Finally with two outs Aughton would hit a single to left field to bring in Siedler to complete the three run inning for the Explorers. This gave La Salle a 4-2 lead.
However, the Hatters would answer right back. A grand slam in the fourth inning followed by seven runs in the fifth gave Stetson a 13-4 lead which would prove to be the final. Sophomore
Michelle Hagarty went 3-3 on the game while Bascara, and Aughton each added a hit of their own.
Aughton threw 2.2 innings recording 4 strikeouts and two earned runs.
Mary Cate Scott and Peace would each throw in relief in the losing effort.
La Salle will wrap up the Stetson Classic tomorrow as they face off against Stetson at noon.
