PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle men's soccer team heads west to California this weekend as they visit Saint Mary's in Moraga on Friday and the University of San Francisco on Sunday.
Scouting the Explorers-The Explorers are coming off a 1-0 defeat of the Loyola Greyhounds in their home opener at McCarthy Stadium on Monday.
-Senior
Joe Farrell scored the game-winning goal on a header in the 55th minute. Coincidentally, Farrell also scored the game-winner in La Salle's home opener as a freshman, finding the back of the net in the 91st minute in a win over Drexel in 2012.
-Sophomore
Tony Daniele leads the Explorers in points after picking up a goal and an assist against Bucknell on Friday and assisting Monday's game-winner.
-Senior midfielder
Andrew Connors scored La Salle's first goal of the season against Bucknell on Friday, marking his third career goal.
-Senior goalkeeper
Mike Kirk tallied his seventh career shutout against Loyola.

Scouting the Gaels-Saint Mary's is coming off a tough weekend in North Carolina, dropping matches to Duke and Elon at the John Rennie Nike Invitational in Durham.
-Saint Mary's was picked to finished second in the West Coast Conference behind USF, receiving one first-place vote.
-Juniors Alex Braman and Rafael Sanchez each received first team all-WCC honors last season and were picked by league coaches to repeat.
-The Gaels have finished among the top half of the conference standings in five of the last six seasons.

Scouting the Dons-San Francisco opened with a pair of matches on the East coast last weekend, falling at No. 23 Penn State 1-0 on Friday before dropping a 6-0 decision at West Virginia.
-USF's roster sports six All-WCC performers: honorable mention selections Davi Ramos, Joshua Smith, Christian De Luna, Manny Padilla, Aaron Lombardi, and all-freshman selection Bryce Kaminski.
-The Dons had four newcomers in the starting lineup against Penn State and six against West Virginia.
-Second year coach Eddie Soto brought in a class of 13 newcomers that was ranked as the 41st best recruiting class in the nation, according to College Soccer News.
-The Dons haven't played an A-10 opponent since a 3-1 defeat of UMass on Sept. 4, 2004
