DAYTON, OH – The La Salle softball team travels to Atlantic 10 rival Dayton this weekend. The Explorers open with a double header on Saturday and conclude the series on Sunday.

Scouting the Explorers
- Last time out La Salle split the series with St. Bonaventure, winning the first game in 18-5, almost setting a school record for runs in the process. The Explorers hit four home runs in the nine-run third inning, which is one short of tying a NCAA record.
- Junior
Michelle Hagarty hit her team-leading seventh home run of the season against the Bonnies. Her seven homeruns are three short of the school season homerun record of ten, and rank 3
rd in the A-10. Hagarty now has 22 career homers and is just five shy of the school record.
- Freshman
Emma Schweigert went 4-for-6 including two homeruns and four RBI against the Bonnies.
- Junior
Christina Bascara leads the team in batting average (.312) and hits (24).
- Senior
Mary Cate Scott owns eight of La Salle's 10 wins this season. Scott is tied for fifth in wins in Atlantic 10.
Scouting the Flyers
- Dayton is coming off a loss to #23 Ohio State University despite out hitting the Buckeyes 4-1 midweek. The Flyers are second in the A-10 with a 6-2-1 conference record through four series.
- The Flyers have the top two pitchers in the A-10 in Gabrielle Snyder (1.29, 6-1), and Manda Cash (1.51, 5-6). Cash is coming off Pitcher and Player of the Week honors after going 2-0 and striking out 11 Billikens while only allowing two hits.
- Gabrielle Snyder leads the Flyers with a .396 batting average and Kailee Budicin leads with 25 hits.
