PHILADELPHIA - The La Salle men's tennis team defeated University of the Sciences, 4-3, to start the 2016 season with a victory.
Tomas Christian won the clinching match at #5 singles, fighting back after dropping the first set 7-6 to win the next two sets, 6-0, 6-2.
The Explorers picked up the doubles point to begin the match.
Francesco Mowrey and
Brian Balico won 6-3 over Jake Sosonkin and Nathan Nguyen at #1, while Christian and
Mark Robinson beat Rakesh Chamala and Sahas Chadragiri, 6-3 at #2.
In singles, Mowrey won in straight sets at #1, 7-5, 6-0 over Sosonkin and
Patrick Pascual won at #4 over Chamala, 7-6 (1), 6-1.
La Salle remains at home to host Northern Kentucky on September 30 at 3 PM.Â
