NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Former La Salle women's basketball standout Cheryl Reeve was selected as part of the 2017 Atlantic 10 Legends Class, it was announced Thursday. The group of 28 men's and women's basketball players features professional champions, 22 Hall of Famers, an Olympian, an All-American, and an NCAA Champion.
Established in 2013, the Legends program recognizes men's and women's basketball student-athletes and coaches who have made a lasting impact on their respective basketball programs and institutions. This year marks the fifth class the Atlantic 10 has inducted. Each year, A-10 member institutions select their two Legends. Previous honorees have included Basketball Hall of Fame members, national champions, Olympians, and professional players.
"The Atlantic 10 is pleased to honor the achievements and success of these 28 outstanding individuals," stated A-10 Commissioner Bernadette V. McGlade. "Their meaningful impact on their institutions, teams and on college basketball as a whole have made a lasting impression, and they are each very deserving of this prestigious accolade."

An All-MAAC Freshman Team selection in her first year at La Salle, Reeve broke the single-season assists record as a sophomore as the program earned its second trip to the NCAA Tournament. Two years later as a senior, the New Jersey native captained the Explorers to a 25-5 record, a national ranking, and another berth into the NCAA Tournament while earning First Team All-MAAC and Second Team All-Big 5 accolades along the way. A Rhodes Scholar nominee, Reeve has continued to build her impressive basketball resume in the coaching ranks. She is a two-time WNBA Coach of the Year recipient (2011, 2016), and has guided the Minnesota Lynx to three league titles over a five-year span. She also helped Team USA to a gold medal as an assistant coach at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
