EASTON, Pa. - Buoyed by four singles wins and a doubles point, the La Salle University men's tennis team earned a 5-2 win over Lafayette on Sunday afternoon. Sophomore
Francesco Mowrey earned his second win at the top singles spot in as many days, while junior
Tomas Christian, freshman
Patrick Pascual and senior
Mark Robinson also picked up individual victories.
In doubles action, the team of Mowrey and Christian made easy work of the duo from Lafayette at the No. 1 position, 6-1, and the Explorers earned the point thanks to a win at the No. 3 slot by freshman
Braden Ward and junior
Joe DiOrio, 6-2.
Singles action saw Mowrey triumph at the top spot with a relatively easy 6-1, 6-1 win, while the other three singles winners - Christian, Pascual and Robinson - won in straight sets as well. Pascual and Robinson lost just three games combined at the No. 5 and No. 6 spots.Â
La Salle returns to action on Sunday, Jan. 29 with a match with Navy.
