Francesco Mowrey continued his impressive start to the spring season, earning a three-set victory over Bucknell's Daniel Wright in non-conference action on Saturday. As a team, La Salle dropped a 6-1 decision to the Bison.
A second-team All-Patriot League selection in singles last season, Wright entered the match against Mowrey with 54 career wins to his credit. After dropping the first set, 6-2, Mowrey stormed back against Wright to earn a 6-2 win in the second to set up a decisive tiebreaker. The Bethlehem, Pa. native was able to win the tiebreak and a point for the Explorers.
In other action, Bucknell took hard-fought wins at the No. 4 and No. 5 spots, as
Tomas Christian forced a first-set tiebreak and
Patrick Pascual took five games in the first set against Max Kane.
La Salle will return to action on Saturday, Feb. 11 at Fordham in Atlantic 10 action. First serve is set for 6:00 p.m.
