SWARTHMORE, Pa. - The La Salle University women's tennis team continued its non-conference season on Saturday against unbeaten Siena. The Explorers received a solid effort from junior
Jade Smith, who pushed her opponent to three sets at No. 5 singles, but fell to the Saints, 7-0.
Smith won the first set, 6-3, before dropping the second as the matched moved to a third-set, super-tiebreak. The St. Petersburg, Fla. product ultimately lost to Julianna Goehner, 10-5. Smith's classmate,
Ally Santerelli, forced a first-set tiebreaker but was edged, 7-6.
The Saints won all three doubles matches by the same 6-1 margin and swept the six singles matches to improve to 12-0 on the year.
La Salle continues its season with a road test at Chestnut Hill on Wednesday, Mar. 29 at 2:00 p.m.
