WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. - Three different La Salle University women's tennis players earned victories in singles action against Monmouth on Wednesday. Freshmen
Ali Snyder and
Maansi Malhotra, along with junior
Jade Smith each notched a point for the Explorers in a narrow 4-3 road loss to the Hawks.
Snyder disposed of Monmouth's Alex Graff in straight sets at No. 2 singles, as did her classmate Malhotra at the No. 6 position. Smith's win was a back-and-forth affair, with the two players at No. 5 splitting the first two sets before a 6-2 win in the third secured the match for the La Salle player.
Monmouth, however, won the doubles point with two victories, picked up straight-set wins at No. 4 and No. 5 and Adriana Armendariz took a three-set heartbreaker from La Salle sophomore
Brittany Poje to clinch the team win.
La Salle continues its busy week on Friday, April 7 with a road match at Rider beginning at 3:00 p.m.
