                     SWARTHMORE, Pa. - The La Salle University women's tennis team was defeated by a tough Fordham team by a 7-0 margin on Saturday afternoon at Swarthmore College.
Facing a team that had dropped just one match in its first 16 outings, the Explorers had a solid showing at No. 2 doubles. The team of juniors 
Jade Smith and 
Ally Santerelli took five games from their opponents but ultimately dropped a 7-5 decision.
In singles action, junior 
Jayla Smith showed fight at No. 5 as she won eight games in a 7-5, 6-3 loss to Carolina Sa. Fordham earned straight-set victories at all six singles spots and took the doubles point, 3-0.
La Salle returns to action on Tuesday, April 11 as they face local rival Saint Joseph's, beginning at 2:30 p.m.
