BRONX, N.Y. - Junior
Francesco Mowrey won his third singles match of the spring season on Saturday evening, defeating Fordham's Lutwin de Macar at the top singles spot in the Atlantic 10 opener for the La Salle men's tennis team on Saturday.
Mowrey was victorious in straight sets, 7-5, 6-4, to pick up the lone point for the Explorers, who dropped the match by a 6-1 margin.
La Salle's freshman duo of
Connor Merrill and
Rogelio Gonzalez won at No. 2 doubles, but La Salle lost the doubles point to go down 1-0.
In addition to Mowrey's triumph, Gonzalez and sophomore
Patrick Pascual each won a set in their respective singles matches but ultimately fell in three.
La Salle steps back out of conference next week for a pair of matches, beginning on Thursday, Feb. 15 against Drexel.
