RBALTIMORE, MD - The La Salle softball team (4-12) split its doubleheader on Friday, the first day of the UMBC Dawg Pound Invitational.
The Explorers first fell to Sacred Heart in the morning game, 9-4.

Angelina Refice. Trailing 9-2 headed into the last inning,
Jackie Heim sent a two-run shot down the left field line to put two more runs on the board.

Later in the inning, Refice stole third and scored on a throwing error. The Explorers continued the onslaught in the second inning, scoring five more runs.
Marissa Ewald singled to left to drive in
Ashley Mendenhall and later scored on a passed ball. When the order came back around, Heim doubled to score Valerie Piniero to give La Salle the 5-0 lead after two innings.
Three innings later, they'd strike again. After Schweigert reached on an error and scored Conaway, Schweigert scored the next at bat on
Taylor Rohrbaugh's double.
