BALTIMORE, Md. - A total team effort led to the La Salle University men's tennis team defeating Coppin State, 7-0, on Thursday afternoon. Seven different Explorers contributed to the victory, earning wins in a total of eight matches overall.
In doubles, senior
Joe DiOrio and sophomore
Andrija Bozovic combined to pick up a 6-1 win at the No. 2 position, allowing La Salle to earn the doubles point and take a 1-0 lead.
Junior
Francesco Mowrey led the way again in singles action, taking care of Jorge Rodriguez Rey, 6-3, 6-3, for his eighth win of the year.
Following Mowrey with straight-set wins were senior
Tomas Christian and freshmen
Connor Merrill,
Rogelio Gonzalez and
Colin Lucius. Gonzalez, Christian and Lucius were particularly impressive, dropping just five games combined over their three matches.
La Salle returns to Atlantic 10 play on Friday, March 30 for a matchup with George Mason, beginning at 2:30 p.m.
