BALTIMORE, Md. - The La Salle University women's tennis team won seven out of a possible nine matches in a 6-1 win over Coppin State on Thursday afternoon.
Freshman
Hana Granillo was the top performer overall, pairing with
Jayla Smith at No. 3 doubles to shutout the tandem from Coppin State, 6-0. The Explorers would go on to win the doubles point and take an early 1-0 lead.
In singles action, Granillo squared off against Tanna Nita at No. 6 and won decisively, 6-0, 6-0. That win was one of five for La Salle, all of which came in straight sets.
Also picking up two wins on the day were
Maansi Malhotra and
Jayla Smith, who won at No. 4 and No. 5 singles, respectively. Junior
Brittany Poje won her match at No. 3 singles, and sophomore
Ali Snyder downed her opponent at No. 2.
The Explorers return to action on Friday, March 30 against Atlantic 10 foe George Mason.
