FAIRFAX, Va. - The La Salle University men's tennis team dropped a 4-0 decision at George Mason on Friday afternoon, in a match that was much closer than the final score.
After falling in the doubles point, the Explorers had their chances in a number of singles matches. Freshman
Connor Merrill won the first set of his match against Daniel Gutierrez at the No. 2 position, but Gutierrez battled back to take the second and third sets.Â
Senior
Tomas Christian forced a tiebreaker against Carter Bradford at the fourth singles slot, with Bradford eventually taking the tiebreak, 7-4, and the second set, 6-2. Freshman
Rogelio Gonzalez did not finish his match at No. 3, but was all square at one set apiece and 2-2 in the third when the match was called.
La Salle will head out of conference for its next match against Villanova on Wednesday, April 4.
