PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle softball team (9-19) heads south this week as they play a doubleheader at Maryland Eastern Shore (3-23) on Wednesday afternoon. The opener will begin at 2 p.m.
Scouting the Explorers
-La Salle is looking to rebound from a sweep at Dayton over the weekend.
-
Emily Conaway leads La Salle this season in hitting (.310) and doubles (10), which is tied for 7
th in the Atlantic 10.
-
Emma Schweigert is slugging a team-best .541 this season, and is tied for 7
th in the A-10 with six homers.
-Junior
Marlo Roadcap tossed her eighth complete game of the season on Saturday, which is tied for 2
ndin the A-10. The lefty has also amassed 60 strikeouts, which is 7
th in the league.
Scouting the Hawks
-Eastern Shore was swept at home over the weekend by Norfolk State, and have lost six straight games since sweeping a doubleheader at South Carolina State on March 22.
-Two Hawks are hitting over .300 this season in Samantha Casarez (.368) and Breana Florez (.339). Casarez also leads the team with 20 RBI's and 13 runs scored.
-Eastern Shore has struggled in the circle this season, having allowed 213 runs (170 earned) over 26 games this season.
-The Hawks are 0-6 at the Henry S. Parker Athletic Complex this season.
