PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle softball team (12-21) makes the short trip to University City for a doubleheader at Drexel (13-19-2) on Wednesday afternoon. Game one is slated for 2 p.m.
Scouting the Explorers
-La Salle defeated George Washington 10-8 on Sunday afternoon in the series finale after the Colonials took both games of a doubleheader on Saturday.
-Freshmen
Ashley Mendenhall and
Marissa Ewald had strong weeks at the plate for La Salle. Mendenhall drove in six runs on the week, including five runs in a doubleheader at UMES, while Ewald hit .375 (6-for-16) and drove in three runs.

Emily Conaway continues to lead the Explorers with a .324 average, and hit a scorching .389 last week while driving in four runs. The sophomore collected two doubles in the GW series, and is tied for third in the Atlantic 10 with 12 doubles this season.

Morgan Orlowski had a strong week in the circle for the Explorers, earning the win with a complete-game in a 7-3 defeat of Maryland Eastern Shore on Wednesday before picking up her first career save in Sunday's win at GW. The freshman is 2-3 on the season with a 3.47 ERA in 40.1 innings.
Scouting the Dragons
-The Drexel softball team was swept by UNCW in a three-game series at home over the weekend. The Dragons led 7-1 in the series finale before the Seahawks used a seven-run sixth inning to steal the win.
-Kristi DiMeo was named CAA Rookie of the Week on April 16 after going 10-for-25 (.400) last week with five home runs, three doubles and 11 RBI's.
-DiMeo and Linda Rush, who added three home runs last week, are tied for a team-high 10 homers this season.
-Taylor Kent also had a huge week at the plate for Drexel, going 16-for-29 to improve her batting average to a team-leading .396.
