Box Score LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. - For the second consecutive match, the La Salle University women's tennis team swept through an opponent as it earned a 4-0 win over Rider on Wednesday. The victory is the fifth of the season for the Explorers, who won four matches over the previous four seasons combined.
All three doubles teams earned victories, with sophomores
Ali Snyder and
Tiffany Theophil combining for a 6-2 triumph at the top spot.
Senior
Jade Smith and junior
Brittany Poje won by a 6-3 margin at No. 2, as did sophomore
Maansi Malhotra and freshman
Hana Granillo.
In singles, Theophil took an impressive 6-0, 6-3 decision over Cyd Melendez at the No. 1 position. Poje earned a 6-1, 6-1 win over Danielle Scrudato, and senior
Jayla Smith also won at No. 6 with a pair of 6-1 set wins.
La Salle had leads in two other singles matches and was tied with Rider in the third when the match was halted.
